An example of the Q of L issues this projects supports

All three men are experienced hillwalkers and cyclists in their time. All have completed the Munroes and Corbetts but now need help to reach a venue as they are unable to drive. Each has a medical condition which would make it unsafe to go on the walks by themselves, therefore the Volunteer accompanies them.
1. Mat is 85 had a heart bypass in his 70’s was operated on 2 years ago for an aortic embolism and also has skin cancer.
2. David is 77 has Parkinsons Disease which causes freezing and balance problems.
3. Dave is 86 has stomach problems and a blood disorder. He is also on warfarin.
Each have benefited both physically and socially from their weekly walks, and their doctors are impressed by their ability to achieve the Q of L which they enjoy. The volunteer also enjoys the experience and as a retired person is benefiting healthwise.
